I have signed up for:
The Somewhat Simple "Feeling Fabulous" Challenge.(This one fits in with my resolution to eat and live healthier)
Patchwork Penguin's UFO Challenge (which fits in with both getting organized and saving money because I won't be buying new stuff!)
I have written before about the power of words to change our lives..... give this some thought and leave me a post, or not..... blog about it on your own blog..... or not. But please do think about it!
This is my word for 2010. I tend to hold a grudge...... for a long time. So forgiveness is something that I definitely need to work on. But not only forgiving other people, forgiving myself. How many times do we set ridiculous goals (those resolutions again) and then when we can't measure up to those goals we are disappointed in ourselves? I know I will easily make excuses for other people before I will cut myself any slack.
So this year I will work on being more forgiving of others and of myself. After all, we are all just doing the best that we can with what we've got!
Happy New Year!
Awesome post....the big word Forgive...that is a hard one...to forgive oneself..it is so much easier to forgive others!!
ReplyDeleteI love your word of the year--As soon I finish here I will check out that blog--and search for my "One Little Word." Thank you for finding me.
ReplyDeleteWhen you forgive others, you are actually forgiving yourself and letting go of so much negative energy...a good thing to do especially for yourself when you don't hold on to the bad feelings. Wrap it up, and leave it in the past...easier said than done, but possible...
ReplyDeleteExcellent post!!! While it may be hard to forgive, I have learned that it's much harder to carry those grudges around.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are so right ...it's harder to forgive ourselves ..probably because we are our own worst critics.
Happy New Year!!
Patience ...that is my word. I believe the lack of it on my part is my biggest failing. I have become my patient as I've gotten older but I think that's just because I've slowed down.
ReplyDeleteGreat word!
