I have starred those that I need to work on from this list..... bit daunting isn't it? Easier to imagine failing rather than see myself succeeding....hmmmm
In a NY Times article Dr Oz recommends: "Whatever your resolution, commit to doing it for at least two weeks. Two weeks is what your brain needs to reprocess the way it makes decisions.”
(Two weeks, I can do that!)
Another recommendation for success, break the larger goal up into smaller, more manageable goals . And reward yourself when you do reach a small step!
Rewards?? I can do THAT!
How about:
NO? Not exactly in line with resolution #3.....
How about this? It's fruit?!
Okay..... I'll think of something else!
On PsychCentral they offer these 6 steps towards keeping those resolutions for 2010:
1.Be realistic (What?! I can't lose 50 pounds in a week?)
2. Stick with your plan
3. Find a buddy to work with
4. Focus on the positive ( I CAN do this!)
5. Resolutions are not punishments, but opportunities
6. Try, try again (we all make mistakes sometimes)
Good Luck!
I have the power to change myself!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't usually make resolutions, and I just treat January as any regular month, where I do plan projects and things to do. Good luck with yours and Happy New Year!

I like - Forget the list & pick ONE resolution. I guess I better start my thinking about my 'one'. Oh, and I'll take one of those strawberries! LOL! Happy New Year!
