"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

Makes Me Happy Monday 8/9

As I get older, I make more of an effort to be kind in every thing I do and say. I know from experience how much a flip comment thrown out at random can cause hurt that will stay with a person for a lifetime.

I am especially careful when I send emails or create blog posts/comments that I phrase my statements in a kind way. When you can't see a person's face as they say a comment it is even harder to know the meaning behind the words. It is better to err on the side of caution and don't write anything that may be taken in a hurtful way.

I was thrilled to find Jo Annie and her pledge!

Passing this information on to all of YOU makes me VERY happy today!
I am very lucky and all of the bloggers I have met
have been wonderful and kind.

  1. I truly try hard not to offend anyone and sometimes it is hard not to take offense but it is a good thing you are doing.

  2. I love the blogging community because in general, everyone I meet seem to be kind and show their prettiest selves. For the others, I stop reading their blogs, because I'm with you, it is important to be kind.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  3. I so agree with you about the importance of kindness. I have been very fortunate as to only receive kindness, so far, in my blogging endeavors. This is a great idea.

  4. You are so right, Sheila. It is sometimes very easy to take the wrong meaning in written comments when you can't see a person's face. I, too, believe in being kind to everyone and try to be careful how I word my comments. Spreading kindness is a lovely thing! Thanks so much for your post!!

  6. I agree with this. It is very easy to sound harsh when writing even though you don't mean it to be harsh. I like this idea alot. Thanks for sharing...Happy Monday!

Re: Bunny Hill Designs - I think I will be starting that birthday patterns first... I want to make that into a birthday banner for my daughter to display at her birthday parties for years to come... :)

  8. I couldn't agree more! If you can't say something nice, then say nothing at all! What a great world to live in if everyone practiced this--the bloggers will take the lead! Thank you!
