"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

WIP Wednesday - New Projects x Two

I have never made a Schnibbles quilt before, but I have seen lots of quilters in blog land who have.

Each month I look for the "Year of Schnibbles" quilts that get posted on the blogs, (Pink Pin Cushion and A Quilting Life). They are all so different and so beautiful!

I finally got brave enough to try one, with a little encouragement from Michelle at L7 Quilt Co.

She convinced me that there were some easy quilts in the new Schnibbles Times Two book and that I should give one a try and join in on the contest at Charming Chatter.

I decided to work on the Scratch mini sized quilt. I am using Swanky from Moda and Bella Snow. I am so excited to use my Swanky fabric, I love it!

This shouldn't be too hard, I know how to make 4 square blocks, and sewing strips together shouldn't be a problem. We will have to see about those setting triangles, though. I am hoping it will all be clearer when I actually GET to that part of the sewing!

As you can see in the pictures I already have some of my fabrics cut and I have even sewn my strips together for the 4 square patches (no picture of those yet). So far so good.... so that means I  can start something else right?? Right???

It seems that Charming Chatter has another sew along, featuring the quilt Between Charming Friends.
This is an 8 week sew along, which should give me plenty of time.... just have to decide on some fabrics to use.
(at least I am using up stash fabrics on these projects!)

So I have two new irons in the fire and
working on my stash.... it's all good!

  1. Hey Sheila! I hope you have fun with your Schnibbles (I love that word!) project. And I love "Swanky" too. Such fun fabrics!! Can't wait to see your progress on this.

Believe it or not, the purse I made for my latest give away is made from Swanky. And you haven't come by yet to enter, so come on over. It ends Friday!

  2. Great fabric and I'm heading over to check out he quilt along. Maybe we can be charming together.

  3. OMD good luck times two! This is all greek to me BOL I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful poem. I love TS Eliot but I didn't remember this!

  4. Good luck with your Schnibbles! I am thinking of making my first one too.

  5. I'm so happy that you're joining us in both the Schnibbles contest and the Quilt Along! I love the Swanky fabric - can't wait to see your quilt! And, I'm looking forward to seeing the fabric for your quilt along quilt, too!

  6. Love the Schnibbles you chose to start with. Those triangles will be challenging but you will love the look. And you will love that it is small :-)
Also love the ark/titanic statement at the bottom of your post :-) You find some great quotes. Thanks for sharing them.

  7. That looks like a lot of fun! I wish I had time to do it. Love your Swanky fabric!

  8. I cannot wait to see this done, I like your fabrics.

  9. What a nice project ...can't wait to see it when your done!!
