"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

Makes Me Happy Monday 5/31

There are many beautiful and wonderful places to live in the world, but today, Memorial Day (observed) I would like to say that it makes me happy to be an American.

Americans are certainly not  perfect and I know we sometimes get grief because of our independent (sometimes seen as elitist?), adventurous (sometimes seen as boorish?), hardworking (sometimes seen as greedy?) and fun-loving (immature?) attitudes.

But as imperfect as some of us may be, there are still many wonderful people living in America, making it a great country to live in.
I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day!

God Bless Our Troops!

(these lovely cats are from flickr.... my cats were too busy napping  their way through Memorial Day to pose for cute pictures.... I just don't get it!)

  1. I too am proud to be an American, thanks for the lovely post.

  6. Here, here, Sheila! Well said. Seems to me we have entered an era where we American's are supposed to apologize for being American. Not me. I say, thank us instead!

  7. God bless the men & women that have served this great country...

  8. Gosh... you summed up our American pride so nicely. There is truly no greater place on earf. Sure, we have our problems... but they are triflin in comparison.

God Bless Our Troops... All Ways!
