"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

There Are No Coincidences

When you stop to really think about why things happen when they do, or how you managed to be in the "right place at the right time" for something great..... it can give you a headache!

There is a word for these little coincidences in our lives: Synchronicity.

"Synchronicity: the coincidental occurrence of events and especially psychic events (as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality —used especially in the psychology of C. G. Jung" (Merriam-Webster.com)

There is even a website/organization and a magazine named for Synchronicity.

BUT..... what got me going on synchronicity today has to do with my Karma post from the other day... how I seem to be getting the "right" messages that I needed at the right time.....
"The soul often whispers to us through synchronistic events" (Ashok Bedi, M.D.).

Now imagine my Karma post combined with my Word for 2010: Forgive.......

Which lead me to find this post on the Awakened Living blog: "Forgive, Let Go, Move on". wOw! It was as if I was meant to find that post to help me with my word/challenge....my soul was whispering to me (AND I WAS ACTUALLY HEARING IT).... leading me to the words I needed to read.

From Awakened Living Post:

"Granting forgiveness to another may be the greatest act of self-love and self-healing we can perform."

" by not forgiving, we continue to add to our own sack of pain."

The only person we can change or have control over is us, and when we engage in forgiveness we are gifting ourselves with personal freedom. By forgiving, I am free to let go and move on to the next enlightening experience. Seen in an even broader light, an act of forgiveness is an act of self-healing."

This whole coincidence/synchronicity/fate/destiny idea has my head spinning today.... what about you?

"Sometimes what we believe as coincidence is really just getting ourselves caught in an angel booby trap." ~Grey Livingston
