"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

Thanksgiving Gratitude Countdown Day 4

Today I would like to show my gratitude for my co-workers. I work in the public schools as a teachers' assistant and I also work in a YMCA after school program. I have the best co-workers at both of my jobs.
In the after school program I work with all young people; I could be their mom! Yet they are all very good at their job. I can count on them to be on time everyday, ready to work and willing to take on any task. They are all amazing with the children. These kids are in elementary school and can be a handful, yet the staff is always patient and kind with them. If there are any problems, the staff is quick to notify me of them before the problem gets too big to handle.
We all have fun everyday with these children! I am so grateful that I have staff that I can rely on.

In my position in the public school I work with children with emotional disabilities (middle school). I am very lucky that the teachers I am working with this year are so understanding with these students and are willing to give them a second (and third....) chance when they  make a mistake. Not every teacher in the building is as understanding.....I am grateful for the kindness and patience they show my students....

Found this quote today.... something to think about as Thanksgiving approaches.

Brother David Steindl-Rast :
Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.
