"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

Thanksgiving Gratitude Countdown Day 3

Today I would like to express my gratitude for my car. It may seem like a silly thing to be thankful for, BUT this is my car:

My car is a 1995 Toyota Previa in this color, but with a roof rack. (I got this picture off of Edmunds.com because it gets dark here at 4:00 so I couldn't get a pic of mine.)

My car is almost 15 years old and still runs great (KNOCK WOOD,CROSS FINGERS, THROW SALT OVER THE SHOULDER and all the other tricks one does to ward off bad luck) It has only 140,000 miles on it and I expect to get many more. Of course, the last 5 years or so I haven't put many miles on it, just puttering around town or driving up north to see my daughter.

This is actually the second Toyota van I have owned. The first van was a 1985, one of the first mini vans to come out. I had that car for 10 years before I sold it and bought the Previa. Because it was one of the first mini vans, whenever I would see another one on the road we would honk at each other and wave. Funny!

I am SO grateful that my Previa starts right up every morning and gets me where I need to go. Everyone I know makes fun of me and my "mom van" especially since I am usually the only one in the 7 passenger seats. BUT whenever anything big or bulky needs to be moved, I  am the first one they call...... me and my mom van. Stop by in another 5 years, I plan to still be driving it!! Did you give your car a hug today and say "thank-you"?
