Reflections and observations on my life as
a quilting/knitting cat lady.

If I was able to do it---anyone can do it. I went back to grad school when I was 46 to earn my masters in Special Education. When I look back now--I don't see how I did it with everything else in my life. You can do it!!!!!
I went back to school when my youngest was 4 months old. Thanks to a supportive husband I was able to finish in four years (yes, it was a two year graduate program, but when I started I told them my plan). People would say things like "Why are you doing this?" "Aren't you a little....well, old for college?" I told them, I may be near fourty when I graduate, but I will be fourty anyway! It gave me something to work for and I am SO GLAD I did it. It was worth every minute.
On the other hand, the other day I was making a dress for my niece and having such a good time. "Why didn't I sew more when Daughter was young?" I wondered aloud. "Deanna, you were in school" pointed out my husband with exaggerated patience. "Oh, yeah...." There will be things that go by the wayside, but this is WORTH IT!

I hope you'll enjoy this journey. I went to grad school right after undergrad. In some ways I feel I would do better now that I am a bit older...but I am not sure I'd be able to pull all those overnighters like I did back then!
