"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

February stuff

First of all, check this out:

Patchwork Penguin has drawn the number for our February UFO project,
and this is what I will be completing this month:
It is an almost complete table runner designed by Sandy Gervais with Objects of Desire fabric by Moda. Something I starting playing with before Christmas thinking it would be a gift, but never did finish.

This is the table runner that I made for the Marie Peagler color of the month challenge. Its not quilted yet, but you can get the idea.... the bias for the tree gave me a headache! It was the first time I used it.

January's challenge was black and white......

February's will be pinks.... all different values and shades.....
Should be interesting trying to pick out a range for this design.... did find some pinks when I was sorting through my stash the other day. I really want to only use my stash for these projects since they are all "learning experiences" and may not come out as well as I had hoped. (cut off my  points on those square in a square blocks....darn that bias edge!)

I am also working on my first calendar quilt. I just finished my January block. No theme to the fabrics, just scrappy scraps. I decided to use 2" squares instead of the traditional strips.(many came from my recent projects, so is a good reminder of working on those) So far so good! And with my other projects going on this month, I should have some more scraps for my February block.

Don't forget to check out the free BOM's on my sidebar for the February installments..... most will be posted by the 5th of this month. A big stash buster weekend sewing camp from Pat Sloan going on too.... check out the buttons.

PS Thank you for all the birthday wishes and positive energy
