"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

Makes Me Happy Monday

Another Monday!! But I don't have to go to work today..... We are celebrating Martin Luther King Day.

Bit of trivia for you, New Hampshire was one of the last states in the US to celebrate MLK day as a paid state holiday in 1999. New Hampshire's motto is "Live Free or Die" and sometimes we get ideas into our head and then become a bit stubborn about them.
We did have a holiday but we called it "Civil Rights Day" instead and it was a floating holiday. Then for a while we called it Martin Luther King/Civil Rights Day and then finally we changed it to MLK Day.

For more info on Martin Luther King Day check here and here.

Not having to drive when there is a snow storm (today).

Warm cups of yummy goodness.

Smart Words.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness;
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

  1. My high school friend Gene who I'm still in touch with sometimes sends me a Happy MLK present...wonder what it's going to be this year??

    I have to say for the longest time I thought he was saying Happy Milk Day since I had no idea what MLK stood for...I have a tendency to spell everything out and I'm not too good with acronyms!!
