"Think you can't change the world? Too late, you already have. It was changed for the better the minute you were born. There are more people than you can imagine who will never be the same because they came in contact with you, if only for a fleeting moment." ~Gail Purcell

I Talk a Good Game, But.....

I encourage others in my life to face their fears and to be strong.... I spout quotes and pithy sayings to illustrate that we are able to find the strength to get through the rough spots in our lives....
For example, this is one of my favorites: "Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think" ~A.A. Milne (I have this one on my fridge...)

So why is it that sometimes I am unable to face my own fears....? I avoid the unknown and hide in the shadows, trembling..... when facing that which I avoid would probably be less loathsome than my mind can imagine.

I guess this is one more challenge I can work on in the new year........ but I still wonder, why is it easy to help others with their problems when we can't seem to overcome our own?

  1. That's been my problem all along, Sheila! I think it's easier to look from the outside than it is from the inside...
