Found My Mojo

Whew.... thought I had lost my mojo but found it just where I left it , just had to dust it off a little :)

Got  caught up on some of my on-going projects......

Jelly Roll Sew Along

Not sure how I like this fabric.... It is a Charisma jelly roll and it's not usually colors I go for...
The colors should all go together since it is coordinated that way, but still takes me some getting used to...

And I got caught up on my Pinwheel sew along too!

 I really like these, but for some reason they didn't come out the right size..... I ended up adding a little more of the cream fabric to one of them to help make it fit in better... made a boo boo somewhere!

These are my unique blocks for the quilt. Not sure if friendship star is technically a "pin wheel", but it is one of my favorite blocks. And I am giving this quilt to a friend of mine, so I thought they fit in.

The red tulips almost look like little fishes in this picture!

 Now to get the sashing and borders done!

wOw, where did this week go?? Time is just flying on by. Haven't even had a chance to catch up on my blog reading, so I hope everyone is doing well; I've been missing you!!


I had a little visitor this weekend.....who made me very happy!

My daughter works for the Human Society and she is fostering this little guy for a couple of weeks until he can be adopted. We BONDED this weekend!!! But, I did send him home.... already too much cat hair around here as it is :)

A friend of a friend may be adopting him, so that is good. He is ALL white and his eyes are already changing color. (blue-eyed white cats are usually deaf)

Sure was fun having a kitten around though...

AND.... I have been thinking of having a give away.... I will probably post it next week and have it run until Mother's Day.... so keep your eyes peeled!

Happy Earth Day 2010

Happy Earth Day!!!

I can remember the first Earth Day I was in 6th grade in NYC and we were planting a vegetable garden at our school. It was SO much fun, digging in that dirt..... Not sure who went back and picked the vegetables as they ripened, but we had fun planting!

To Google or Not to Google.... That is the Question

So, have you ever tried to google yourself? I was playing around one day and decided to try it.....

Evidently, I am a successful travel agent in Cleveland, Ohio. (Never been there)

I also graduated from High School in Milton Massachusetts in 1962 (pretty good, I was 3 at the time!!).

My picture is on someone's Spanish Face book-type page (Nope, not me)

I am 65, a Sagittarius, and single according to "my" face book page (don't do face book, I am Aquarius!)

So those entries were not me.... but I was found in several other places:


I was listed in a newspaper article with all the city department employees and their salaries.

I was listed on the website of one of the schools I work in.

I signed a petition a couple years ago, and there I was!

I donated money to a couple of local organizations and was listed.

And I showed on on many, many blog postings....( didn't realize my last name also showed up on so many.)

All together 9 google pages came back when I searched..... what about you??

Gratitude Post

There is always something to be thankful for in our lives, even if we are too busy to notice. I know I try to focus on all that is good in my life whenever possible.... it not only makes me feel better about my life in general, but it also helps bring MORE positive things into my life.

I was very lucky this past month and won in three giveaways!!

My blessings are many and my heart is filled with gratefulness for the gift of living, for the ability to love and be loved, for the opportunity to see the everyday wonders of creation, for sleep and water, for a mind that thinks and a body that feels. 

I thank you, too, for those things in my life that are less than I would hope them to be. Things that seem challenging, unfair, or difficult. 

When my heart feels stretched and empty and pools of tears form in my weary eyes, still I rejoice that you are as near to me as my next breath and that in the midst of turbulence, I am growing and learning. 

In the silence of my soul, I thank you most of all for your unconditional and eternal love. Amen. 

2010 One Word Challenge Revisited

It is almost eerie how little things will pop up in my life (like this pic on flickr) to remind me of my challenge and get me thinking about it again.


While I haven't been working on it as actively as I probably should be (for my own mental health) it has been on my mind......

 


And even though I don't consider myself a religious person, Easter brought to mind a quote that even I know (with my limited knowledge of the Bible)

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34)

 

And so I continue to ask for strength in my journey to forgive......
